Do You Know?
- Chhoti Deepawali , which falls a day prior to Badi Deepawali ( main) is dedicated to Lord Yama ( the God of death) to ward off Demons and evil spirits.
- According to our religious scriptures, ( Dharama shastras) after every 135 years , Lord Yama visits his sister Yamuna on the day of Chhoti Deepawali . It is believed that those who offer prayers and lit Dias( earthern lamps) on this auspicious day, they are protected by Lord Yama from any harm and unnatural death .
Note : The aforesaid claim has no scientific basis, it's a matter of one's own belief, hence, it shouldn't be taken as gospel
