Event Description : Nazar Ya Nazariya - A photo exhibition organised by Score Foundation with support from British Council to celebrate World Disability Day .
A glimpse into real life stories of visually impaired who have achieved great heights in their chosen fields. These photos were captured by photographer Darpan Ved while the team of ‘Nazar Ya Nazariya’ travelled across India to handpick and shoot the lives of people featuring in a T.V show by the same name.
Score Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation working towards disseminating information on living life with blindness, launched a first of its kind television series, ‘Nazar Ya Nazariya’ in association with Sightsavers, an international charity working to combat blindness in developing countries in September this year.
This exhibition is a derivative of this initiative and reinforces the message that visually impaired can accomplish just as much as their sighted counterparts. The exhibition also has a message on challenging common perceptions and focus on immense possibilities of life with blindness. The exhibition is an attempt to help bring about a change in people’s perception about life with blindness.
What’s required is that we look at the abilities as opposed to the disabilities!
