Event Description : Rangbhoomi presents 'Rangotsav' three-day long theatre festival.

27th November : Samrat Ashok, written and directed by Daya Prakash Sinha
The opening play will unveil nuances of a person named Samrat Ashok, who is obsessed with an inferiority complex of looking extremely ugly. Being performed for the first time, the play will see excellent performances, exchanging of dialogues and drama that will leave theatre lovers awestruck and yearning for more. The depiction of the internal conflict, his aggravated obsession turning him excessively cruel would definitely be an intriguing theatre performance to watch out for.
28th November : Kissa Maujpur Ka, written and directed by Jayvardhan
Second day will open with Kissa Maujpur Ka, bringing on stage the fate of every girl child born in India. The play highlights how today, people pretend that they are modern and do not discriminate between a girl and a boy. But, when the actual situation arises they do not hesitate to quietly get an ultrasound done and abort the girl child.
29th November : Hi! Handsome written and directed by Chitra Singh
Marking the finale of the festival, the most popular and loved play Hi! Handsome will hit the stage 55th time in Delhi. The play revolves around the elderly and issues relating to them. The negligence that old-age people face from their younger counterparts in the family will be addressed with heart-touching theatre performances.

“This year’s Rangotsav is special as we have three different stories, touching up on important causes like obsession, female foeticide and loneliness among the elderly, to narrate and catch the attention of people, who believe in cross-questioning their viewpoints and evolving with time in order to bring about a bigger change in the society. At Rangbhoomi, every year via the festival we aim to bring forth issues and catch hold of the right audience with the right kind of depiction juxtaposed with brilliant talents in the theatre industry”, says, J.P. Singh, Secretary, Rangbhoomi

About Rangbhoomi : Rangbhoomi, the Theatre group is active in Delhi Theatre for last 20 years. Rangbhoomi is going to organize a three-day Theatre Festival Rangotsav on coming 27, 28 and 29 November at 6:30 p.m. daily, in which Samrat Ashok, written and directed by Daya Prakash Sinha, Kissa Maujpur ka and Hi! Handsome written by Jayvardhan and directed by Chitra Singh will be staged respectively. Approximately 50 Actors from Delhi-Theatre, including chiefly, – J.P.Singh, Madan Dogra, Rohit Tripathi, Arun Sode, Yogesh Sharma, Rajeev Lochan, Deepak Kumar, Chitra Singh, Chandrakanta and Sarita Rana, will be participating in this three-day Theatre-event. The light and set for these plays have been designed, respectively, by the eminent light designer R.K. Dhingra and Ved Pohoja.
