Event Description : 'Anushakti Atma : Generating Peace for Future' photo exhibition based on nuclear power plant

The exhibition consists of four blocks telling about the nuclear power plant at Kudankulam Site, “Rosatom” international experience, describing elements of the NPP and stages of NPP construction, the fields of the nuclear technologies application. Exposition will also provide the information on the contribution the NPP makes to the environmental protection. 
The photos show how the peaceful atom helps people in everyday life, they demonstrate the positive influence of the environment friendly nuclear technologies. The special serial of photos is dedicated to the construction of the Kudankulam NPP – a key project of the Russian-Indian cooperation which will soon start generating electricity for the South Indian region. Kudankulam NPP is one of the main strategic projects of the Russian-Indian cooperation. Electricity generation from the first and second Units of Kudankulam NPP will provide with the power supply more than 20 mln homes in the Southern regions. 
In October the exhibition was attended by many visitors in Chennai and they paid great interest to it. The significance of the exhibition was stressed by the Consul General of Russian Federation in India, N. Listopadov in his speech at the opening ceremony: “The exhibition poses a unique challenge - to make people more familiar with nuclear technology and to present the complicated technologies in a very accessible and interesting way”. 
During the opening ceremony in Trivandrum the guests expressed the joint opinion on the positive role of nuclear energy and welcomed the exhibition as an attempt to raise the awareness about nuclear technologies. “Our life is consuming more power today” – as put by the member of Parliament of India, Anirudhan Sampath.
