Event Description : ICCR presents An exhibition of paintings by Sangeeta Gupta.

Besides being a bureaucrat, an Indian Revenue Service Officer of 1984 Batch, She is presently working as Commissioner of Income Tax in Delhi. She is also a poet, painter and film maker.
Her first solo exhibition was held at Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Kolkata in 1995, which was inaugurated by Mother Teresa and the entire sale proceeds of the exhibition was given to CRY.  Her 25 solo shows have been held all over India i.e. Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Chandigarh and abroad at London, Berlin, Munich and Lahore.  She has participated in more than 200 group shows in India & abroad, in national exhibitions of Lalit Kala Akademi, AIFACS and Sahitya Kala Parishad and in several art camps. Her painting is in permanent collection of Bharat Bhavan Museum, Bhopal. Her works have been represented in India Art Fairs, New Delhi in 2011 and 2013.
She has received 69th annual award for drawing in 1998 and 77th annual award for painting in 2005 by ALL INDIA FINE ARTS & CRAFT SOCIETY, New Delhi and was conferred Hindprabha award for Indian Women Achievers by Uttar Pradesh Mahila Manch in 1999, Udbhav Shikhar Samman 2012 for  achievements in the field of art and literature and was awarded "Vishwa Hindi Pracheta Alankaran" 2013 by Uttar Pradesh Hindi Saahitya Sammelan & Utkarsh Academy, Kanpur, was bestowed with Women Achievers Award 2013 by Indian Council for UN relations on the eve of International Women’s Day 2013.
There is a collection of short stories and four anthologies of poems in Hindi to her credit.  Her poems are translated in many languages.  Her collection of poems Pratinaad has also been translated in Bangla, English and German.  Her book ‘Lekhak ka Samay’ is a compilation of interviews of eminent women writers in Hindi. 
She has directed, scripted and shot 3 documentary films on Padmashree Keshav Malik.
She is actively engaged in activities related to promotion of Art and Culture through Prithvi Fine Art & Culture Centre, a society in Delhi. 
The present exhibition is being sponsored by ICCR and she has decided to dedicate the show to the people of Uttarakhand who have been hit severely by Catastrophic floods and Landslides recently. There are far too many children and families that still need urgent help. The funds raised through the sale proceeds of this exhibition would go to rehabilitate some of the displaced people of Uttarakhand.
