Amrita Shergil (30 January 1913 - 5 December 1941), was an eminent Indian painter, sometimes known as India's Frida Kahlo. She is an important woman painter of the 20th century India, whose legacy stands at par with that of the Masters of Bengal Renaissance.

Satyajit Ray (2 May 1921 - 23 April 1992), was regarded as one of the greatest auteurs of world cinema. He directed 36 films, including feature films, documentaries and short films. He was also a fiction writer, publisher, illustrator, calligrapher, graphic designer and film critic. He received many major awards in his career, including 32 Indian National Film Awards, international awards and an Academy Award in 1992. The Government of India honoured him with the Bharat Ratna in 1992.
