Event Description : Kaafila-e-Dilli – A Historical, Cultural and Ecological Exploration on Delhi
Inviting school-going children for an unique Exploratory Discovery of Delhi this June!
We are DelhiByFoot [www.delhibyfoot.in; www.facebook.com/Delhibyfoot ] one of Delhi’s top ranking heritage walking groups, conducting nature explorations, heritage tours, food marathons and photo-workshops all over Delhi for individuals and institutions.  Imbibing elements of fun, learning, drama, story-telling & a fresh outlook towards our great city, we expose Dilliwallas to Delhi's rich History, Cultural Heritage, Arts and last but not the least, the local traditional cuisines!

On a professional front, our team members in DelhiByFoot (DBF) have been engaging with children and young adults for many years in order to encourage a harmonious intersection between their ‘Individual Life’ and the ‘City’s Life’.  In keeping with the thought of helping the youngsters develop a 'friendship' with the city they live in, our team has designed a child-friendly workshop program to enhance knowledge, empathy and artistic as well as creative skills in children.

DelhiByFoot introduces for the first time in Delhi an experiential journey through time, culture, people and a city’s ecosystem. We will take your child on expeditions to historical sites of the city – ancient to contemporary along with subject experts and teams who would efficiently use methods like

Performing arts including role-plays, theatre and music
Visual Arts including photography, craft-making, etc.
Literature including creative writing of prose or poetry and story-telling

The DBF workshop is based on the simple philosophy that a ‘Self-discovery’ triggers happiness; and a happy mind can focus more when it learns through the route of ‘sight, touch, feel, see, listen’, thus moving away from impersonal mediums like TV, Gaming Consoles and Internet.

Workshop Programme:
• Day 1: Introduction and orientation to workshop
• Day2- 9: Field visits, exploration, inputs and documentation
• Day 10: Final interactions and culmination event to showcase the learnings as a public presentation using medium of multimedia exhibitions, photography and performance.
• Topics roughly being covered: Delhi’s History over 2000yrs, Social Context of Culture and People of Delhi and Environmental challenges faced by Delhi.
• Mix of classroom and field studies.
• We would be using creative methods like theatre, art, music, films, interactions, and quizzes during the programme. The students would be expected to work by themselves in collating their learning with continuous mentoring by Team DBF.
