A group of students, painters, journalists, doctors and professionals united by a common interest – ‘theatre’, formed in 2002, under the leadership of Mr. Bapi Bose, Artistic Director, Circle Theatre is a professional theatre company of New Delhi is meant for theatre of strength, courage and substance - ‘theatre of cerebral excellence’ Having the honour of venue opening and premiered in Bharat Rang Mahotsav (the International Theatre Festival of NSD) the USP of the organization is the volume of research oriented work of diverse subject incorporates in its production which lead to an unique record for this organization within brief span of time in the country that, at a row all of its productions stand at par excellence in terms of its ‘artistic quality’, ‘expression’, ‘message’ (Socrates, Julius Caesar Ki  Aakhree Saat Din, Ekla Chalo Re, Pratham Parth, Parampurush etc.) which result ‘Best Production’ of the year and participated in Bhartendu Natya Utsav; Sahitya Kala Parishad, Govt. of NCT Delhi for several times, Bharat Rang Mahotsav; International Theatre Festival, NSD and its Satellite Theatre Festival for several times, Rang Sangam; National Theatre Festival, SNA including other festival of National importance etc. In 2012, the latest CTC’s mega multi-media production of Seventeenth July on ‘Godhra carnage’ got rave reviews and hit all the National newspapers.
This apart Circle Theatre has extended its support and has been architect in reviving the city’s decayed Bengali theatre culture. Keeping this in view Circle Theatre has collaborated along Sangeet Natak Akademy, New Delhi with New Delhi Kali Bari, Mandir Marg in organizing National Theatre Festival - All India Bengali Short Drama Competition since 2008.
In May, 2011, on the occasion of 150th Birth Celebration of Rabindranath Tagore, perhaps the greatest cultural icon of India to the International foray Circle Theatre organized TRIBUTE TO TAGORE, a round the year celebrations: a Theatre Festival on poet’s work by inviting seven organizations, a weeklong Theatre Exhibition on Tagore’s theatre, a Colloquium on the poet’s vision on theatre, Felicitations of eminent cultural personalities, followed to the next year in March 2012, a concluding ceremony of  the same occasion of Oi Mahamanab Aase - a ‘Kavita Utsav’; a confluence of Poetry reading and recitation in Bengali; Hindi and English, a five and half hour long programme in which seventy seven poems were presented by the artists of their age group of 18 to 88 first time in the city and it ended like a carnival and again continued to April 2012 with great enthusiasm to commemorate the same with the Path O Paatheya, an evening of Poet’s Text & Articles, Dramatic Pieces, Letters, Travelogues readings in Bengali, Hindi and English. It was an awesome experience, felt the mind of the genius of Tagore. Later on, Circle Theatre felicitated every artists of both the occasion with Angavastra, Boquet of Flowers and Memento alongwith the Guest of honour - Mr. Sudhir Chanda, the Rabindra Sangeet Aacharya.
This the 10th Anniversary of Circle Theatre and we have come across many ups and downs. We have earned many feathers on our cap and some not. As long as your support continues we will be here with quality production with great determination. As a recognition the organization has been enjoying the Salary Grant by the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
