Entry : Under the guidance of SPACE educators, a maximum of 100 participants will be able to participate in Project Paridhi on a first come first served basis.

Event Description : SPACE would like to invite you to join in the 1st occurrence in 2013 of our recurring flagship project, “Project Paridhi” which we will be conducting during the upcoming Vernal Equinox, March 20th 2013 using the sundial.

SPACE initiated this project 4 years back. We are happy to share that in a short span of time under SPACE guidance, more than 5000 science enthusiast students and interested individuals have successfully calculated the circumference of the Earth – using only backyard tools and simple trigonometry and geometry concepts! In doing so, they have replicated an ancient experiment as done by astronomer Eratosthenes 2300 years back.
SPACE plans to celebrate this Vernal Equinox on March 20th, by conducting Project Paridhi as a Citizen Science project - with students and general public, at the giant sundial located at Bara Pullah in Delhi.
