About the Play ‘Khwahishen’ : Modernity comes with a baggage of its own. It has provided several advancements in the life of human beings. Development of metropolitan cities and the day to day technological inventions are changing our day to day life faster than anytime earlier. ... The connectivity between human beings is at high level in this period. Telephones, internet, social sites and several other popular mediums have provided us several means of connecting to the known and unknown people. This has opened up a great new leap in human relationship. Man-women relationship is also part of human relationship and it has its own historical, civilizational and societal baggage. In our times, it is changing in a rapid way. Man-women relationships in our times are seeing new avenues, new outlook and new freedom. It is celebrating its new diversions which is more liberated and progressive rather than any other time of history. The meaning of love and sex has been redefined by this new turn. It has come very far from the earlier hegemonic man-women relationship. The youngsters of our time express their love and sexuality in a different paradigm and they celebrate it rather putting it in corner on the name of morality and absurd values.
Our new production ‘Khwabaishen’ is a tale of three young Turks of our time, who don’t succumb to the tried and tasted way of life. They have chosen a carrier of their own and they live independent life in a metropolitan city, a city which grows bigger day by day but limit our periphery of human relationship. The broader our social contact expands the lonelier one feels in his or her life. They struggle with their loneliness in their life to find their love and right of their sexuality. They do everything to please themselves and at the end of it they found themselves lonelier than earlier. Finally, they chose it in their life as a way of life and celebrate it.
