Event Description : Exhibitions for the week are as follows :
Gallery No. 1, 4 & Foyer (18th March to 2nd April) : Video Galaxy presents a selection of videos by both young and more established artists from the French –public institution (French National Centre for Visual Arts) CNAP’s collection, reflecting its diverse approaches. This exhibition proposes to showcase the best of video art from this collection.
Among the selected videos, certain films relate to the ability of artwork to create specific situations, while others testify to experimentation with reality in the form of films that recreate the propaedeutic and performative dimensions of art. Others provide insight into the development of visual architecture and other such enigmatic micro-narratives. Some confront frequently visited territories of painting through animation. The works come together to form a melting pot of “time-based media,” showcasing contemporary artwork and constituting an interesting video galaxy.
The Centre national des arts plastiques (CNAP) is a public institution under the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. Its mission is to promote and support contemporary artistic creation in all fields related to the visual arts: painting, sculpture, photography, installation, video, multimedia, graphic art, design and more.
This exhibition is a part of the Bonjour India Festival and is presented by The French Embassy in India, The Institut Français en Inde and the Alliance Française de Delhi in collaboration with Lalit Kala Akademi.
