Event Description : Hindustani Vocal recital by Dr. Subhendu Ghosh and Odissi Recital by Dr. Meerambika Mahapatro.

Dr. Subhendu Ghosh is a disciple of Lt. Ustad Hafeez Ahmed Khan (Padmashree) of Rampur Gharana. Later he studied under Lt. Pandit Ramesh Nadkarni. Subhendu has directed and sung in the production of several commercial music albums (classical, ghazals, folk), short films and plays. He has extensively performed before live and television audiences in all over India, USA, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia and UK. As a Scientist and academic by profession he has worked as a professor at the University of Hyderabad and is currently working at the Department of Biophysics, University of Delhi South Campus.

Dr. Meerambika Mahapatro is a disciple of Mrs. Kumkum Lal. In her early days, she learned Odissi from Guru Kanduri Charan Behera. From her childhood days, she has performed before live audiences nationally and internationally. By profession she is working as Associate Professor at National Institute of Health & Family Welfare and former scientist at Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi. Her area of work focuses on Domestic Violence and Women’s Right.
