In the year, 1989, Jacques Derrida had said in an interview (Politics and Friendship), “One of the most perilous events of this century is the departure of Karl Marx and entrance of death!”
This play, Anavrit, the Hindi translation of Torit Mitra’s original Bengali play Biboshon, is based on such a concept. In today’s contemporary post-modern society, there exists no honesty, but a strong urge for ‘consumerism’ and the passion of multinationals investing in
consumer productivity. Under the great pressure of these factors, mankind stands alone, alienated, shamelessly ‘naked’, and, of course, DEAD!
