Event Details : Cinedarbaar, Embassy of Japan, The Japan Foundation and Marwah Studios present 3rd Anime Convention.
Cinedarbaar is all set to deliver for the third time in a row its fans yet another dose
of Japanese pop-culture through Anime Convention. This year, Anime Convention will open with Makoto Shinkai’s latest movie, ‘Children who chase lost voices from deep below’. The major highlight of this year’s extravaganza would be the presence of
immensely popular and critically acclaimed animator from “Madhouse” Masaru Kitao who will be accompanied by Yoshihiro Watanabe also from “Madhouse”.
There will be special master class conducted by an independent animator Otakaru
Ryo, another distinguished intellectual from anime world.
First premier Entertainment Expo in India, Anime Con focuses on the emerging industries of Animation, Gaming, Mobile/App, VFX/SFX, Toys and Graphic Novels.
In 2011, the festival showcased 14 Anime films, 14 Convention Activities such as
Workshops, Master classes, Contests and 10 Gaming events in3 days. In 2010, the
audience got the opportunity to view films that were specially curated to spread
awareness that Animation and Manga/Comics can go beyond the demography of
children. The convention will focus on activities and workshop for all age group starting with children from age 8+, like Anime treasure hunt, Manga Drawing competition, Gaming quiz and special film screenings. For college students the festival there will bring an indepth masterclass by animators like Otakaru.
The panel discussion in Anime Convention invites professionals, students, stalwarts
from animation industry to come forward and exchange their ideas, and views with
their Japanese counterparts.
This year will have a retrospective of the legendary game by Hideo Kojima-‘Metal Gear Solid (MGS)’ which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. There will be talks, exhibitions, contests, games etc to look out for. For panel discussions and masterclasses, special guests from Japan’s animation and gaming industry will be present.
Not only video game booths (open for all), comics/graphics, toys, merchandising but there will also be fun contests and competitions like treasure hunt, cosplay, and gaming competitions. Last but not the least, various movies like, Tatsumi, Summer Days with Coo etc. will also be screened during the course of the festival.
For all those lovers of Japanese food, we have special cookery masterclass to savor
the world of Japanese delicacies.
