Event Details : ICCR presents 'Voyage Towards Peace' painting exhibition by Alok Kumar. As part of Horizon Series.
The period of modernity is a period of strife, strife between values of the different strata of society, between nationalism and internationalism, between local and global, tradition and modernity and so on. In this strife a duality ensues not only in the world, but also within the being itself. The duality generates a tension, which turns to be the source of fragmentation. My paintings tried to capture these fragmentations and explore way out of this fragmentation. Vibration of melody integrates people in a unique way. Holding integrity in the core, my painting portrays gathering of people suggesting the powerful connection that harmony creates within people all over the world. Harmony breaks the barrier of language, geographical distance and religion evoking boundless ecstasy in human minds. This initiative, which is a collage of paintings from several series, talks about togetherness. This is an effort to invite the world to join hands in the journey towards peace – towards unity - towards ecstasy. The essence of harmony, enlightenment and integrity has been captured in my paintings which are most vital key to realize peace. His paintings appeal for creating divine space within all individual which, through mutual integration, will generate the echo of peace all over the world.
