Event Details : The American Center, the U.S. Commercial Service and the Consular section of the U.S. Embassy, in association with Motion Picture Distribution Association and Cine Darbaar present 'City Symphonies-USA' a film festival to celebrate “World Tourism Day”.
The United Nations World Tourism Organization celebrated the first World Tourism Day on September 27, 1980 to raise awareness on the role of tourism within the international community and to demonstrate how it affects social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide.
The three-day long festival will feature classic U.S. films that give the flavour of some of America’s greatest cities.  Throughout the festival, the American Center will host a tourism fair, interactive sessions, workshops and music based on the cities. 
All films will be followed by quizzes with exciting prizes. Cine Darbaar, a Delhi based film society, will lead a discussion on Film Noir on 28th September, 2012. A workshop on city representation and cinematic techniques will be organized on the 29th September, 2012.
Between films, visitors will enjoy an interactive map of the USA that combines cartography, cinema and information on the films, trivia, selected clips and insights on how films influenced the image of America’s cities. There will also be video booths displaying film shots and video clippings about American cities.

Seminar – Explore the vitality and diversity of the United States – An American Embassy Consular Officer will speak about the Visa process and also the travel agents will inform on the attractions, exciting events and happenings that can be enjoyed by the visitors to United States in the year 2013- 2014. Travel agents will be on hand to provide information on attractions, exciting events and vacation opportunities in the U.S.
