Note : It's a closed door event which means you cannot enter after the event begins, unless there is a break. We give a grace time of precisely 15 mins after the scheduled time. In any case, both Studio Safdar and May Day are small spaces with limited seating, so best to arrive early.
None of the events are ticketed. We are unable to pay anything to the artists who enrich our lives, unless you contribute. We’ll spread the chadar at the end of the performance. These contributions will be shared 50:50 with the artists.

Event Details : Preview Performance: 'Life-In-Progress' Non-Verbal play by Katkatha Trust.
This work-in-progress performance is a series of images created with material like newspaper, metal frames, masks and movement. There are many small stories that come together and sometimes the images are just forms that might mean different things to different people. The show begins with life beginning in the morning with the newspaper coming in and then the next day it turns into trash. From this trash the visuals start to emerge. The performance does not use "puppets" as in dolls or figures, instead it explores the basic philosophy of puppet theatre which is "animating or breathing life into dead material to create an impression of life". This is a work-in-progress has emerged from two months of improvising with materials. With this preview show Katkatha team hopes to test waters with the audience and see if people relate to this kind of performance.
