Note : It's a closed door event which means you cannot enter after the event begins, unless there is a break. We give a grace time of precisely 15 mins after the scheduled time. In any case, both Studio Safdar and May Day are small spaces with limited seating, so best to arrive early.
None of the events are ticketed. We are unable to pay anything to the artists who enrich our lives, unless you contribute. We’ll spread the chadar at the end of the performance. These contributions will be shared 50:50 with the artists.

Event Details : ‘Maruti, Manesar and the Violence against Workers’ by Comrade Satbir Singh, Haryana State President of CITU. While the incidents around the Maruti-Suzuki plant at Manesar have attracted (mostly unsympathetic) media attention, what is going unreported is the larger discontent of workers in the entire Gurgaon-Manesar industrial belt. This discontent is the result of the extremely harsh and exploitative labour regimes in operation, which are directly a result of the neoliberal onslaught of the ruling classes on the working class. Comrade Satbir Singh has been one of the important trade union organizers in Gurgaon-Manesar, and he will speak of the workers’ experiences in this belt.
