‘Offtrack’ is genuine protest theatre. Almost every boy “rescued” from the platforms and taken to child shelter homes, goes through the cycle of being coerced into drug abuse to enjoying it, being raped and being a rapist and a sex worker, satisfying the poor men who live on platforms and rich who seek a quick sexual encounter with a “nobody’s” child in the toilets of the trains. Offtrack is
an attempt to recreate stories of children. Five stories off the tracks, from the platforms, from the skits made by the platform young looking at the world from their perspective. Five stories laced with hard humour, overflowing with joy and sorrow of living. These stories strung together with vignettes from the lives of their middle class theatre facilitators.
Duration : 90 minutes
