Event Details : Salaam Baalak Trust presents “Interpreting Tagore” A celebration  in honour of Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary.
A fund raiser by Salaam baalak trust and renowned contemporary dancer and choreographer Astad Deboo, pioneer of modern dance in India with the children of the trust n an endeavor to raise funds  to continue building a platform for street children to realize their potential.
‘Interpreting Tagore’ uses world music, movement and alternative theatre forms, like puppets and masks, as well as poetry recitation, to create the quintessential Astad Deboo experience at its multi-faceted best.  The premier comprises of three pieces based on Tagore poems: 'Walking Tall', 'Your Grace' and 'Awakening'. 'The songs have been translated into English by Aruna Chakrabarty and it has been
set to music by Japanese and Finnish composers.
The dancer has choreographed the show with the children from the Salaam Baalak Trust who have been training in contemporary dance for the last four years and are members of the Astad Deboo Dance Company.
