In its report titled “Global Economic Prospects January 2012: Uncertainties and vulnerabilities” released in January 2012, the World Bank has made a number of negative predictions such as reducing growth in global economy, depression in Eurozone, falling Oil prices, shortage of liquidity & volatility in Middle East. The report also suggests that the developing countries need to be prepared for the worst. In this highly uncertain environment, developing countries should evaluate their vulnerabilities and prepare contingencies to deal with both the immediate and longer-term effects of a downturn.
What are the risks faced in the BRICS economies this year? Is there a risk of financial exposure to emerging markets through export channels and international capital movements? What is the situation with the Russian and Indian economies? Experts from both the countries will present their perspective and discuss possible suggestive measures.
