"Solution to Traffic problem – Experience of Moscow & New Delhi”
Most of the major cities in the world are confronted with numerous traffic problems leading to a high level of traffic congestion and considerable number of fatal road accidents. The problems of traffic are primarily attributable to various factors such as high intensity of private vehicles on the roads, poor mass transportation facilities, inadequate road capacity, heterogeneous movement of traffic, etc. This further leads to Air & Noise pollution which has become a major health hazard to one & all.
Moscow and New Delhi both have witnessed an explosive growth in car ownership and use in recent years and authorities are facing an enormous challenge to control the traffic congestion & other related problems.
Will the development of transport infrastructure solve the problem of traffic in cities? How effective the mass transport systems have been? What other steps should be taken to tackle the growing menace? Experts from both the countries will share their experiences and present their viewpoint to provide possible solution to this problem.
