Event Details : The ŠKODA Prize Announcement of Top 03.

The ŠKODA Prize is the largest and most prestigious award on the Indian visual arts scene. It recognises cutting-edge work demonstrating vision, innovation, and a mature understanding of material and form. The Prize brings to public notice exciting trends in contemporary art, highlighting the output of established mid-career artists as well as new voices. The ŠKODA Prize is Seventy EMG’s Arts Initiative. The Prize is an Award of Rs. 10 Lakh Rupees and for the two runners-up, a four-week residency in Switzerland, courtesy Pro Helvetia, The Swiss Arts Council. The ŠKODA Prize for Indian Contemporary Art will be announcing the much awaited shortlist comprising of three finalists on the 24th of October at the British Council in New Delhi. Beginning at 6 pm; the ŠKODA Prize Jury: Mrs Kiran Nadar, Vivan Sundaram, Pooja Sood, Heike Munder and Girish Shahane will be a part of the panel discussion wherein they will highlight the importance of the twenty chosen artists, their strengths and their work. Following this, the final three artists who comprise the Škoda Prize Shortlist for the year 2011 will be announced.
