Event Details : SāMāPā & LKS present 'Sufi Kinship' the bliss & magic of scintillating Sufi Ensemble by India's young Sufi Diva Ragini Rainu with 35 musicians for the first time in the history of music.
The bliss & magic of scintillating Sufi ensemble conceived and conceptualized by the eminent Santoor maestro & music composer Abhay Rustum Sopori and sung by the young Sufi maestro Ragini Rainu with around 35 musicians.
Sufi Kinship is based on decades of experimentation on presentations of orchestras and ensemble by the Music Legend Pandit Bhajan Sopori who introduced the concept of folk music ensembles in India in mid 1970's. His son Abhay took it forward to new heights and has presented the grand ensembles with around 60-70 musicians.
Sufi music has become very popular in the last few years and its audience has grown across the world. The incredible, diverse and heart touching resonance of Sufi Kinship will enthrall the listeners with a unique unison of contemporary and traditional feel. It's the harmony of traditional Sufi, western and contemporary thought while maintaining the Indian melodic frame and nuances.
The ensemble will feature instruments like Violins, Cello, Guitars, Soprano Saxophone, Metal Flute, Bansuri, Tenor, Santoor, Sarangi, Piano, Synthesizers, Choir, Tabla, Dholak, Percussions, Drums, etc. His Excellency Mr. Chandradath Singh, The High Commissioner of Trinidad & Tobago, will be joining the Sufi Kinship ensemble on the Steel Drum.
