Event Details : Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra: presents its 54th year of Ramlila.
The capital traditionally awaits the rising of the curtain on the Ramlila which unfolds the messages of Ramayan speaking amongst various things about the wheel of karma; the consequences of past deeds. There are many layers of karma involved and dilemmas to be faced and the gap between good and evil is not as clear as we might have thought, and that behind this simple story lies a cosmic purpose to be fulfilled. At every step along the way we are tested emotionally and intellectually. Ramayana is about devotion, loyalty, family relationships and respect to elders. The Kendra’s Ramayan is ‘education through entertainment’ - where tradition presents mythology in a contemporary context.
