Event Details : SMW Entertainers presents'Arpan' a tribute to Mannaday and Mahendra Kapoor.
“Arpan” A tribute to two great singers of the Golden Era of film music…Manna Dey & Mahendra Kapoor.
One the senior most singer and the other last of that era when music was the soul of the film.
Both of them with totally different styles of singing. Manna Dey a pure classical singer and Mahendra Kapoor a light music singer with a mellow and melodious voice with a soulful expession.
Manna Dey gained proficiency in classical music under the guidance of Ustad Aman Ali Khan and his guru K.C.Dey- Manna Dey’s uncle. Classical music has been his foundation on which he built the edifice of his popularity- a learning which enables him to present any form of Indian music, classical, light and even Western Pop with equal ease. His song “Sur Na Saje” or a pop number “Aao Twist Karen” exhibits his range of phenomenal talent.
Manna Dey made his debut in year 1942 in the film “Tamana” and shot to fame in 1959 in the film “Mashal” with a hit song “Upar gagan Vishal”. Mahendra Kapoor made his debut in year 1958 in the film “Navrang” and shot to fame in the same year in the film “Sohni Mahiwal” with the song “Chand Khila Aur Tare”

The show is being managed by SMW and will be an audio – visual presentation where screen will carry forward the nostalgic memories of Golden Era and support the artistes rendering the songs.
