Event Details : Sarvani Internationals presents 'Ragging' Hindi Play.
Ragging is a Hindi drama which revolves around a ragging victim Kuldeep.Kuldeep belongs to a poor struggling family, unfortunately years ago his father got blind due to an accident. His father is old now and whole household was Kuldeep`s sister, Kumud`s responsibility.
Both his sister and father wish to make him a successful engineer who will make them proud one day and was the only hope of their family. One happy day on kuldeeps birthday Kumud`s friend brought the news that Kuldeep got selected in Engineering college and now the family’s dream will come true.
Unheard of their happiness there was another issue standing in their way, engineering college fee. When Kumud asked her relatives and friends for help, she got only blank refusals from them. Loosing all the hopes, Kumud proudly sacrifices all her savings for the family.
Taking his family values and his polite nature, Kuldeep enters the Engineering College hoping to fulfill his family dream. Problem arose when Kuldeep’s seniors at engineering college call him in their room for introduction and make fun of him and his family. They ask him inappropriate questions, give him certain instructions to be followed and force him to speak abusive words and to dance for them.
Tolerating to a limit when Kuldeep protest for his self he was brutally beaten up by them. Surviving such behavior only for his family, Kuldeep tries to offer a hand of friendship to his seniors by giving their bus fare. Judging his friendly gesture wrongly, his seniors ego got hurt and they decide to punish him.
They call him again in their room. Unknown of the fact that his seniors were upset Kuldeep didn’t know that something very dangerous was waiting for him.
One of the senior of Kuldeep was drunk at that time. Again a series of tortures started. And the poor fellow had no choice but to follow his senior’s instructions. They made him circle the whole hostel compound with him singing inappropriate words for his family.
Broken both physically and mentally when Kuldeep says no to them they started laughing upon his condition. Shunning all the noises a gun shot sound was heard and then everything got silent.
At home, wait for Kuldeep’s result was going on. When Kumud’s friend arrived and gave the tragic news to his family, they both got shattered. Unable to bear the news Kuldeep`s old father suffered a heart attack.
For identification and crimination of dead body Kumud and Kulmohan reached kuldeep’s hostel. His seniors were standing nearby the body, when they saw the pain they have caused to Kuldeep’s family they felt guilty.
What to do and what not to do now. They have committed a crime and are now criminals. Realizing their mistake they pray to god. Behind them another gun shot was heard and it was the drunk senior who committed suicide because of guilt. Rest of all the seniors confess to god and chose the way of humanity.
Losing their last hope forever, Kuldeeps family pray for his soul and request the people to understand how ragging can destroy several lives.
This whole story is presented to audience by Kuldeep’s soul which acts as a Sutradhaar in the drama. Taking a candle in his hand, in between the drama, time to time kuldeep’s Soul enters the stage and shares his felling with the audience.
Also there is a mysterious character in the drama, the soul of girl named Tamanna, who was also a victim of ragging.
