Event Details : 'Forms of Fiction' a talk by Valerie Miner, Novelist and Artist-in-Residence at Stanford University.
A discussion of fiction considering the short story, the novella, and the novel focusing on how traditional forms of storytelling, such as oral storytelling, the parable, the fairytale, the cultural “myth”, etc. have shaped contemporary literary fiction.
Author of thirteen books including After Eden, Range of Light, A Walking Fire, Winter’s Edge, and Blood Sisters. Winner of a Distinguished Teaching Award, Valerie Miner has taught for over twenty-five years and is now an artist-in-residence and professor at Stanford University.
