Event Details : Witness India in the 1800s through the paintings of American Edwin Lord Weeks (1849-1903). Presented in association with The Hubris Foundation.
Weeks traveled here in the 1800s and painted a large and compelling pictorial album of India. At Queen Victoria’s invitation, he exhibited his “Indian Works” at her Empire of India Exhibition at London in 1895.
This exhibition comprises museum archival giclees of Weeks’ paintings of Delhi, Rajasthan, Banaras and Amritsar.
The Hubris Foundation is a not-for-profit organization. It exhibits Western art free of charge to India. The paintings comprise Original and/or Museum archival giclees.
