In the Asian region, India and Pakistan are the geographical focus point for Homeopathy. It was introduced in the first half of the 19th century by European physicians. Soon, native doctors and lay healers also developed an interest in Homeopathy as its concepts were easily reconcilable with traditional Indian healing approaches. At the same time it was seen as modern Western medicine. The fact that it does not rely on 'strong' drugs made it particularly popular.
Now for over 200 years Homeopathy has proved amazingly successful in the treatment of chronic and allergic conditions such as rheumatism, migraines, asthma or skin disorders. This exhibition gives an overview of the development of this form of medicine. The themes are clearly and imaginatively presented and take the visitor on an intensive journey through the history of Homeopathy. An Exhibition by The Institute for the History of Medicine (IGM), affiliated with & supported by the Robert Bosch Foundation, Stuttgart, Germany presented by Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan in co-operation with Homeopathic Wing of Directorate of Homeopathy & Nehru Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
