Event Details : “Woman Eternal” a contemporary choreographic work.

The renowned filmmaker Federico Fellini once said that "through the ages, from the beginning of time, man has covered woman's face with masks. They are, however, his masks, not hers. They are the masks of the viewer, not of the woman, and what they hide is not what they seem to cover. The masks come from the man's own subconscious and they represent that unknown part of himself."
But today, the woman is ready to remove those masks and show her own inner strengths. She is a blend of traditional values and contemporary style. She is a storehouse of incredible force and brings colours to life.
A sublime image of warmth and indomitable strength, a woman is someone to be respected and cherished. If she is as gentle as the fresh breeze, she can be as powerful as a roaring lion.
Using the medium of contemporary dance evolved from the technique of Mayurbhanj Chhau, ‘Woman Eternal’ is an all woman production that shows inner strength through strong and vigorous contemporary movement while exuding grace and sensitivity. Acrobatic and powerful, yet flowy and gentle is the blend of the choreography performed by a very first time all woman contemporary dance cast.
Taking from the journey of the inner strength that women portray at crucial moments in their lives, this production will be a synthesis of portraying through contemporary and chhau movement the qualities that women inherently possess – courage and strength (through very contemporary release movement blended with the talwar feel of Chhau), compassion (through contemporary contact work), wisdom (through solo acts on stage at the same time) and harmony (through very lyrical and floor work movement).
The presentation will have music by Shwas, lights by Milind Srivastava, added inputs by Tushar Kalia and costume design by Bhavini Misra herself. The dancers are Avantika, Khushboo, Natasha, Shweta, Carling, Himanshi, Riddhika, Supriya, Tanmayta, Charu Shankar, Samara Chopra, and Bhavini herself.
