Event Details : `Neutral Witnesses' The theme of the paintings is based in laws of physics and Indian philosophy. The works signify the concept of singularity of science, a thought that states that universe was born from a single unit that was beyond all known laws of science. The paintings also depict the concept of advaita philosophy, or one supreme force from which all things were born and all things return when they die. It combines Einstein's theories of time-space and the Newtonian principles of quantum physics with Upanishadic wisdom of cyclic transformation of a single unit.
The title `Neutral Witnesses' addresses the manifestations of the singular force, which are created and destroyed from the same matter and provide for the spectacular diversity of life around us. At the same time, they remain only observers of it, detached and neutral.'

About the Artist : Kota Neelima is a post-graduate from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has a Diploma in Journalism from Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan and has done an advanced course (painting techniques) from Arpana Caur’s Academy of Fine Arts and Literature, New Delhi.
Neelima was a newspaper journalist for 12-years. Her debut novel, Riverstones, published in 2007, was about agricultural distress leading to farmer suicides in the poorer parts of the country. Her second book, Death of a Moneylender, published in 2009, is about rural indebtedness and also comments on ethics in contemporary journalism.
Her paintings are impressionist-abstract and medium is oil on canvas.
