Atul Bhalla?s (b. 1964) practice employs a variety of media from photography and video to sculptures and installations. His works grow out of a response to ecological concerns that are localised in Delhi. Atul studied at the College of Art, New Delhi (B.F.A.) and Northern Illinois University, U.S.A. (M.F.A.) His solo exhibitions include ?Immersions?, Anant Art, New Delhi (2005), ?Remarking the River?, Anant Art, Noida (2007) and project 88, Mumbai (2007)??Within/Without?? Aicon Gallery, London (2008). Atul has also participated in group shows including ?City Cite/Site? curated by Latika Gupta at Anant Art, New Delhi (2008), ?Mutant Beauty? curated by Gayatri Sinha at Anant Art, Noida (2008),?Where in the World? at the Devi Art Foundation, New Delhi (2008), ?India Moderna? IVAM Institute of Modern Art, Valencia, Spain (2008) and ?Immersions? curated by Deeksha Nath at Anant Art , New Delhi (2009). He has participated in several residencies: three-month artist exchange program at iaab Ateliers, Basel (2009), ?48°C Public-Art-Ecology?, New Delhi (2008), ?Eco+Art?, New Delhi (2007); 'Dilli Dur Ast'- a month long residency within the old walled city of Delhi (2006); and ?Black Box Exercise', New Delhi (2006).
