Airtel brings HTC Hero Android phone in India - 9th September 2009


Smartphones with Google Android OS are much awaited in India as it offers most of the google services preinstalled and brings down the cost of the phone because it's a free Mobile Operating System by Google offered to mobile hardware companies who otherwise had to shell a huge amount for buying Windows Mobile OS or developing their own mobile software by investing huge money in Research and Development.
After HTC Magic, Airtel brings HTC Hero in India. HTC Hero is an Android powered phone which comes with Google suite of applications. 
It comes with intuitive HTC Sense user interface. It has Qualcomm 528MHz MSM7200A processor with 512MB ROM and 228MB RAM, 5 megapixel camera, built-in internal GPS antenna, 3.2-inch HVGA (320x280) TFT-LCD touchscreen, 3.5mm audio jack which accepts any headphone and the company claims that Hero offers 7.8 hours with it's 1350mAh lithium-ion battery.
  It also offers pack of Airtel apps like Portfolio Manager, Hello Tune Manager, Weather Channel, Mobshare, In-Mobile search and City Search.

HTC Hero will cost Rs. 31,990 in India
Rs. 34,600 in Maharashtra ( because of 12.5 percent VAT rates there )
