"Sound Station" Jamming Studio in Okhla

Sound Station Jamming Studio OkhlaMGMH Furtados
MGMH and Furtados opened a world class Jamming Studio in Okhla called 'Sound Station' on 18th July, 2009. This has been the outcome of MGMH being dedicated to helping artists develop their sound and providing them with the adequate guidance and support needed to making it in this industry.
This rehearsal space comes as a relief for a number of upcoming as well as established and individuals interested in the music field as they are always on the lookout for better places to jam. Sound Station happens to be one of the biggest jam pads in Delhi as of now and has high quality equipment being provided by their partner company – Furtados which is also opening up a new store in the capital in July. The jamming studio is acoustically treated, fully soundproofed and air-conditioned and also acts as a hub for bands and musicians to meet up and interact.
Ritnika Nayan, CEO of MGMH says, “we at MGMH have always tried to do our part to help the upcoming, independent music scene in India and Sound Station is just another step towards this goal. We hope this space provides everything a band needs to reach their utmost potential.”
Sound Station and Furtados will be holding workshops related to the music industry, gear, equipments etc. In future they are also looking at providing classes that teach instruments like drums, guitars, keyboards and also classes for aspiring vocalists. They have tied up with Indecision for competitions where one can win free jamming hours for themselves and their band.
Music Gets Me High or MGMH as it is commonly known is the brainchild of Ritnika Nayan. It was formed in the summer of 2006 in New Delhi, India. MGMH follows a unique 360-degree model and deals in Artist Management, Live Concerts and Artist Merchandise. Ritnika Nayan started her musical career in 2001 at Hofstra University, New York, where she worked in the concerts division of the University for four years. During this time, she organized shows for artists like Maroon 5, Nickelback, Counting Crows to name a few and dealt in various parts of the Live music sector ranging from Tickets, Advertising, Production and Finances. In 2006, Ritnika moved to London to pursue her Masters in Music Business management from Westminster University. She worked as a promoter in London for a year managing concerts at venues like the Troubadour, 100 club, Borderline and Nambucca. After a Brief work stint at Sincere management (Peter Jenner), Ritnika moved to India to set up her music company.
Sanchal Malhar, vocalist of Indigo children (Superfuzz) says about the place, “it’s the first of its kind in Delhi and it’s made by people who know the nitty gritties of the music business. Having jammed at Sound Station, I can say that the sound is great and the bands can rehearse in peace as the acoustics are brilliant. It is a state of the art jam studio where a band is being provided with good equipment and a place where they can actually know how they sound.” Nikhil Rufus Raj, bassist of Indigo Children added that, “the acoustics are flat and hence I can hear myself. I would compare the sound to that of Blue Frog in Mumbai which has one of the best sound systems in the country. Sound Station will elevate the music scene in India and will definitely be of help for many bands to move forward.”
Sound Station is open for bookings and gives affordable hourly and monthly rates depending upon the requirements of the band/individual.
