Event Details : As in all the past years, this year too ASAVARI, a centre for Kathak set up by prima donna Guru Shovana Narayan (Padmashri) will be presenting their repertory group consisting of professionals, aspiring professionals, dedicated dancers to the very young talents in an evening titled “Rhythm and Joy”. Guru Shovana Narayan and Guru Tirath Ajmani have been constantly endeavouring to nurture talents in the field of performing arts. Afsar Mulla has joined the team in their effort to nurture this rich ancient classical dance tradition. Several students of ASAVARI Centre have become known professionals in the field of dance and have spread their wings in different parts of the world.
The evening’s programme ‘Rhythm & Joy’ showcases choreographies and nuances of Kathak and also tests the determination and ‘sadhana’ of the professionals and the aspiring professionals. Over 50 dancers are participating in this evening’s programme. Coming on the heels of the International Dance Day, it extends the message and ethos of the World Dance Day of bringing the spirit and joy of dance in people’s lives, of enveloping the ‘non-initiated’ and of living and breathing the harmonious balance of the inner and the outer self.
