Event Details : Dhruv Performing Arts Society presents Bharatanatyam Arangetram by Apurva Nambiar.
Apurva, a student of class IX, Ramjas School, R K.Puram, is the daughter of Mrs. Geetha Nambiar and Mr. K.C. Chandrasekharan. She started learning bharatanatyam at the age of seven, under the tutelage of Mrs. Anuradha Venkataraman. She has received training under Dhruva Performing Arts society which runs classes at the Delhi Tamil Sangam. She is also learning Carnatic music under Guru Kalaimamani Jalaja. She has taken part in many cultural performances conducted by Ramjas School, Dance school etc and also has won prizes including interschool dance and music competitions and sports competitions.
Having learnt nuances of Bharatanatyam from her Guru for the last six-seven years, Apurva is now all set to stage her first performance. On this day of her Arangetram, she seeks blessings from one and all, which will mark her entry onto the stage.

Guru : Anuradha Venkataraman
Anuradha Venkataraman is a young exponent of the Tanjavur style of Bharatanatyam. She is the disciple of Guru Dr.Saroja Vaidyanathan, one of the most well known gurus of our times.
As an acclaimed dancer, she has performed extensively in India and abroad including many prestigious dance festivals. Along with the performance aspect of Bharatanatyam, Anuradha is also passionate about the academic aspect of classical dance especially in the area of evolution of the content of classical dance production. As a choreographer, Anuradha has presented several works on both traditional and contemporary themes. She is the Founder president of “Dhruva” a society set up for the promotion of traditional performing arts.
.‘A’ graded artiste of Delhi Doordarshan. Received both National and State level Scholarship for dance. As an empanelled artiste of ICCR has performed in - Bosnia, Poland, Denmark, Germany and Luxembourg in the year 2006.
