DANCE ( Drama ) "Varanasi - A Gateway to Moksha" choreographed and presented by Jyotsna Shourie at Epicentre, Gurgaon - 28th Feb 09
- Event Details : Varanasi - A Gateway to Moksha, choreographed and presented by Jyotsna Shourie.
- Varanasi - A Gateway to Moksha : Legend has it that Varanasi derives its name from the Varuna and Assi rivers that originated from the lotus feet of the great Lord Shiva himself, who being the presiding deity is worshipped with song and dance. Parvati too is venerated as Annapurna, the one who feeds the world. The holy Ganga has its origins in the matted tresses of Lord Shiva and at Varanasi it expands into the mighty river and undertakes the dual task of blessing as well as absorbing the sins of millions. All this and more is captured in the ballet and the familiar sights of this city including its ghats, temples and religious fervour, is portrayed through an audio visual rendition.
- With over 20 years of experience as a choreographer and much more before that as a Bharata Natyam dancer, Jyotsna Shourie uses her talent to conceptualise engaging dance ballets, an intense traditional format infused with a contemporary feel. In this way, she generates a stimulating fusion that widens the boundaries of classical dance.
- Conceptualized and choreographed by : Jyotsna Shourie

- The Krishna Chalisa, The Sound of Music, The Birth of Jesus, The Radha Chalisa, The Seasons of Love, The Gita Govindam, Alice in Wonderland and Noddy in Nrityaland – be it through her choice of themes or through technical artistry, she expands the frontiers of Indian classical dance with each production.
