THEATRE : Hungry Heart Festival Society presents "Tattoo" A play exposing Incest at Akshara Theatre - 18th December 08

• Event Details : The Hungry Heart Festival and Akshara Theatre Partnership, supported by the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, has successfully adapted and performed other German plays like `Creeps’, `You Shall Give me Grandsons’, and `Norway Today’.
• `Tattoo’ is a tale of the imprisonment of the spirit. Of incarceration that occurs in the home and through loved and trusted people. It is the exposure of incest which is kept under wraps under the garb of protecting the family honour.
• Tattoo is the story of a woman who isn’t able to shake off the amorous attentions of her father, who refuses to let her out of his grasp, and allow her to lead her own life. The girl makes one bid for freedom, only to be foiled by a weak lover and the ghosts of her past.
• The play is in English and has been adapted to an Indian environment.
