  • 1st to 17th January : An exhibition of Sculptures by Prafull Singh.
  • A Mumbai based artist, Prafull Singh’s works are spiritual in essence and meditative in quality. According to the artist his life is a journey to understand the “divine power and energy in the form of sculpture”. His works are therefore a reflection of his life’s philosophy of the goal of divine realization. Some of his works display surrealist overtones as he tries to transcend the everyday world of chaos and disharmony and reach a realm of peace guided by the practice of meditation. He primarily works with bronze which he feels is suitable for the style and content of his works.

Prafull Singh Sculptures
  • 17th to 30th January : An exhibition that presents works by contemporary artists on the theme of India Calendar Art. Also featuring the release of a special art calendar featuring images of the works. The ubiquitous and highly eclectic genre of Calendar Art, which has formed the mainstay of popular visual culture in India.
  • Artists showcasing their works are Alexis Kersey, Amrit and Rabindra Kaur, Arjuna, Bibhu Pathnaik, Biplab M.R, Dileep Sharma, Farhan Mujib, N.Pushpamala, Olivia Fraser, Rajendra Kapse, Thukral and Tagra, Waswo X Waswo

Calendar Art
  • 1st to 30th January : An exhibition of Scultptures by Pramod Gaikwad.
  • A young artist from Bhopal, Pramod Gaikwad completed his degree in painting from the Government College of Art, Aurangabad. He has participated several times in the Biennales at Bhopal and the Tokyo and has exhibited extensively in India and also countries like Japan, Germany etc.
  • He uses white with great potency and dominance. His works have a Zen like simplicity in an abstract idiom. He prefers working with inks and with a limited palette of whites and blacks he conveys moods and emotions. In terms of their evocative power and spiritual feel his paintings can be compared to some of the masterpieces of Far Eastern art. Also given to writing poetry he sums up the philosophy behind the present show in the following poem.
