Event Details : HT City Presents Kingfisher Pubrockfest 2008 in association with Motorola - live performances by the bands Krosswindz and Hypnosis.
Krosswindz
Krosswindz, from Calcutta, was the first band from the region to release an album, Singles, of their originals back in 1993. They also have releases from RSJ records Delhi, Chandrani’s originals being featured in GIR Vol. 1 and 2. The band has 9 albums in Bengali, of which 5 are full length albums and the other four are compilations. The band toured the US in October 2007. Its focus is on fusion with jazz leanings. They are now working on releasing their new English album.

Hypnosis
Hypnosis’ music comprises of Funk, Rock with an icing of Blues. With influences ranging from all forms of music, the band believes in keeping things simple with a certain understated sense of force. There’s one common outlook – “drill for music and will for music.” The band members’ conviction is that the dimension of music can change one’s perception of the world- and it is with this conviction that they play on.

About Pubrockfest : The concept of Pubrockfest was initiated by Rock Street Journal in 2005, when a humble beginning was made with a 4 gig festival featuring 12 bands in Delhi. It marked the beginnings of a club rock culture in the Capital, which sustained beyond the festival.. Last year, Kingfisher Pubrockfest was taken to 7 cities and 30 gigs. This year, it is bigger than ever, going into 20 cities and 60 gigs over May, June and July.
Kingfisher Pubrockfest this year will see some of the greatest names in the music circuit, along with many new acts and two international acts touring the country.
