•

- Event Details : The End of Toil is an exhibition of Prints from 1945 to 1990 by Haren Das. A Comprehensive book authored by Paula Sengupta complements the exhibition.
- Art as human creation has a relevance in the space and time that it is created but it is equally open to re-looking and rewriting of its form and content in present times. Images are indeed readings. The past always remains a challenge to reconstruct and reexamine especially when the artist has left behind a body of work that is the only primary source to draw inferences from. Indeed then in Haren Das, toil is seen as the inevitable component in the
lives of the agricultural proletariat, who tend the earth through day and night and changing seasons, and labour throughout their lives in anticipation of the toil to end some day. - Click here to view the Profile of the Artist
