CLASSICAL MUSIC & DANCE AWARDS & PERFORMANCES : Annual Award Function by Sanatan Sangeet Sanskriti at Shri Satya Sai Audi, Lodhi Road - 28th Dec, 07

Chief Guest : Hon’ble Dr. Karan Singh, MP (Rajya Sabha) & President, Indian Council for Cultural Relations The function will start with the lightening of the lamp and welcome address followed by the address by chief guest, award distribution and performances by the three distinguished artists.

Event Details : Sanatan Sangeet Sanskriti, under the aegis of Rai Foundation, is holding its Annual Award function to honour the eminent personalities from the field of art and culture. Every year, Sanatan Sangeet Sanskriti gives the awards to the distinguished artists for their contributions in the field of dance and music.

Artists who will be Awarded are :
Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma Ji : Sanatan Sangeet Sanskriti will honour Santoor maestro Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma with Sanatan Sangeet Samman 2007.
Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma Ji is one of the best contemporary Hindustani classical musicians. He has been credited with single-handedly making the Santoor a popular classical instrument, to the extent that the Santoor and Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma are synonymous.
Dr. Anita Manu Singhvi : Ghazal singer Dr. Anita Manu Singhvi with Sanatan Sangeet Puraskar 2007 for her contribution in the field of Ghazal renditions.
Trained under the guidance of Pandit Kshirsagar Ji of Gwalior Gharana and musical maestros Mujahid Khan and Shanti Heera Nandi, Dr. Anita Manu Singhvi is carrying forward with the legacy of noted ghazal singer Begum Akhtar.
Ms. Reela Hota : Odissi dancer Ms. Reela Hota with Sanatan Nritya Puraskar 2007 for her contribution to Indian Classical Dance, Odissi.
For Ms. Reela Hota, who has been dancing since the tender age of eight, dance is a spiritual practice and a means towards inner purification. A dedicated Odissi dancer, she has a remarkable stage presence. Her flawless movements have a sensuous grace.

Performances : The artists will also mesmerize art lovers with their magical performances at the award function.

About Sanatan Sangeet Sanskriti : Sanatan Sangeet Sanskriti, the cultural arm of Rai Foundation, is dedicated to preserve and encourage traditional art, music, dance and culture among new generations. It strives to include the underprivileged girls in the journey to cultivate and promote India’s traditional and cultural heritage.
