Event Details : This exhibition by award winning conceptual photographer Vikrant Tunious is a documentary project on perhaps the most interesting group of people in America, who by choice are different -- the old order Amish, also sometimes referred to as the "Plain People". Their modernization process halted sometime in 1800 AD which means they have no electricity, telephone, or radio, let alone internet or even cars. The project was not easy ...as the Amish believe that the taking of photographs where someone is recognizable is forbidden. Through the photographer’s frequent return visits and genuine sincerity towards learning about their culture without prejudice he gradually won over the trust and friendship of the Amish community.

Vikrant Tunious is an award winning conceptual photographer whose work has been featured in Time, Cosmopolitan, Philadelphia Style, Metro, India Today, and Outlook Traveler. Vikrant currently resides in Philadelphia and travels nationally and internationally for assignments.
