The panelists are Fatima Bhutto, Pakistani poet and writer and the daughter of Murtaza Bhutto, whose latest book, Songs of Blood and Sword, details four generations of the Bhutto family and the political violence that would destroy them; Vir Sanghvi, columnist and the Editorial Director of the Hindustan Times; and political critic Ashis Nandy.
The discussion will be followed by refreshments. The event is accompanied by "The Decorated Cow" solo show of paintings & sculptures by Sidharth at Religare Art.i Gallery, 7 Atmaram Mansion, Scindia House, K G Marg - 13th March-13th April 2010
The Caravan is published by the Delhi Press group, which is the leading magazine house in the country with 31 magazines in nine languages. The Caravan, originally launched by Vishwa Nath in 1939, was discontinued in the 1980s. Last year, the group decided to revive and reposition it as a narrative journalism magazine. The relaunched Caravan hit stands on 1January 2010.
The April issue carries two important historical narratives from South Asia. We examine the assassinations of political leaders from either sides of our border, Bangladesh and Pakistan, the turmoil it created in the two nations, and how two daughters fought for justice in the subsequent decades.

The motive behind any political assassination is never achieved. To my understanding, it is attempted with a vision of change; but unfortunately there occurs no change, neither at the political level nor at the societal level. The history of Indian politics, right from Mahatma Gandhi holds it true.
