Event Details : ICCR & Care India present The Care Festival.
The festival will celebrate Women’s Day - an international acknowledgement of women’s rights and empowerment, and CARE’s work alongside women and girls from the most impoverished communities in India.
CARE has worked in India for the past sixty years, developing the potential of women from marginalised communities to drive long-lasting, equitable change.
CARE places special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and communities escape poverty. Women are at the heart of CARE’s community-based efforts to improve education, reduce malnutrition, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources.
Programs :
The CARE Festival will begin at 7.30pm with a dedicated poetry reading by Delhi Poetree. This will be followed by a performance by the international jazz artiste Leni Stern and her band.
Paintings by the acclaimed Indian artist M Sivanesan will also be on display in the restaurant area from March 6th-8th. These will be available for you to purchase, with a percentage of the proceeds going to CARE India.
