Event Details : India International Rural Cultural Centre presents 'Sham-E-Holi' An Evening of Sufi Qawali by Abdul Hamid Sabri and group celebrating Holi.
Abdul Hamid Sabri is a wellknown traditional Qawal of Delhi Gharana. Born in Delhi, he has been groomed in a musical atmosphere since his birth. He received his training from Ustad Hilal Ahmed Khan and Ustad Zafar Ahmed of Delhi Gharana & has given number of Qawali performances in various musical concerts in different cities of India and abroad. Recipient of many prestigious awards and accolades, Janab Sabri is an ‘A’ Grade artist of All India Radio (Delhi). Some of his few concerts are All India Radio concert programme, Qutab Festival-Delhi, Malabar Festival-Calicut (Kerala), Roshanara Festival organised by Delhi Tourism. Jashan-E-Zamhooriat Minjer Festival- Chamba (Himachal Pradesh), Baba Fareed Festival-Faridkot (Punjab), IRCEN Festival –“PRAVAH” in Jodhpur (Rajasthan) & Goa.  Abdul Hamid Sabri and his group has also visited Yangon (Myanmar) and Bangkok (Thailand) for performances sponsored by I.C.C.R., Govt. of India.  Besides musical concerts he has also been featured in television serials, telefilms & plays like Ameer Khusroo (T.V.Serial), Qutab Minar (Telefilm) and Vasant Bahar (T.V.Play). He also had the honour to perform before former Hon’ble President of India, Late Shri R.Venkataraman in New Delhi.
