Event Details : 'LeMalade Imaginaire' by ADI Theater.
Le Malade Imaginaire is the greatest and best known of Molière’s attacks on doctors. Like many of his other well known plays, it is the exaggerated nature of the main character which provides the comedy: Argan is hypochondria personified in much the same way as Harpagon’s miserliness and Tartuffe hypocritical piety.Molière remains one of France’s best known playwrights; his comedies continue to be performed all
over the world.
Yet, he wasn't just a playwright but also an actor and director who produced his own plays, ran his succession of theatres and managed a troupe of actors.Molière’s life was full of ups and downs. His plays
were immensely popular and attracted the flavor of King Louis XIV.
This play is in house production presented by theatre troupe of Alliance: ADI Theater that represents the confluence of French and Indian culture. ADI stands for Alliance Dilli which is formed by the French learning students of AF Delhi.
