Event Details : SRC Repertory presents Natya Utsav.

Schedule :
22nd, 23rd & 24th May : “All My Sons” (Mere Bache)
The play focuses on Jamuna Prasad’s conflict of responsibilities, his responsibility to his family and that to wider society. He originally believes that he is justified in sending cracked cylinder heads and causing the deaths of 21 pilots, as this allowed his family to make money and allowed his son Pradeep to inherit the family business. Jamuna Prasad justifies his actions as he thinks he has a higher obligation to his family over society and there is nothing greater than the family. Unlike his father, Pradeep feels society and other people play a main part in a person's responsibility. When he finds the truth about his father’s actions; he is horrified - and here it is possible Pradeep has become a sort of spokesperson for Arthur Miller in the play. Jamuna Prasad still does not understand his son’s anguish. Not until Sharad’s letter is revealed to him, does he reply to Pradeep's question. Jamunaprasad eventually realizes that "they were all my sons" in one sense.
