MUSIC "Ellington Suites Far East Revisited" Jazz Concert by Tony Overwater Trio & Calefax Reed Quintet at IIC - 6th March 09

• Event Details : Ellington Suites Far East Revisited – Jazz Concert.
• Presented by Tony Overwater Trio - Tony Overwater (double bass); Erwin Vann (tenor saxophone); and Wim Kegel (drums)
• And Calefax Reed Quintet - Oliver Boekhoorn (oboe); Ivar Berix (clarinet); Raaf Hekkema (saxophone); Jelte Althius (bass clarinet); and Alban Wesly (bassoon)
• The jazz ensemble will perform several suites that were written by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn for the Duke Ellington orchestra, in new arrangements for six reed players (oboe, clarinets, saxophones, bassoon), double bass and drums. The ensemble will also present new music by Dutch composers as well as new work by composers from the countries visited.
